My Love Story

I met my boyfriend James in church camp about five years ago. He was very quiet and reserved. I on the other hand am kind of loud I'll admit. I immediately wanted to know why he was so quiet. I wanted to figure him out like he was a puzzle almost I guess. When I got to know him I found out there was so much to him, and I felt so special that I knew these great things about him that no one else did. It's like we were made for each other and we've been inseperable since.

I've been out of school for about two years now - I graduated from USC's Marshall School of Business and I am in the mangerial program at Target out in La Habra, California. My boyfriend surprised me out of the blue one day. He said he wanted to go to Vegas for the weekend just the two of us, we've both been working very hard and it would be great to get away for a few days. He was so sweet - he got us a room on the strip and took me to a nice dinner. We hadn't had time to go anywhere in a while so it was really great to just be away and to not be worrying about any of the mundane daily life obstacles. After our dinner at Mon Ami Gabi, he asked if I would like to watch the Bellagio Fountains Show. I'd seen it before but it's really beautiful so we went across the street to watch them. I looked over at James to tell him something and my heart stopped - he was down on one knee. He asked me to marry him and after I stopped crying I said yes.

Afterward he said that we weren't going back to our room at the Marriott a few streets back from the strip, that he had upgraded our room to the Venetian for that night. I'd never stayed in a hotel that nice before so I was blown away. The inside of the Venetian is so gorgeous. Finally when we got up to the room, I was surprised by my parents, my brothers, his parents, his sister, and six of our closest friends. He had invited everyone close to us to come share in our special moment. We went out to celebrate after and had an amazing rest of the weekend. He just went above and beyond every possible aspect. Normally I wouldn't call James the romantic type, but he put so much thought into this, I could not have asked for more. I am so excited to be spending the rest of my life with my soul mate.
